Speak to a dealer. They will not tell you that there is a recall, and may tell you that there is a charge to look at the vehicle. In practice Mercedes are then covering the cost off changing the rear subframe. It looks like it may need recovering to them on a transported! Good luck!

That is in the US. But in the UK I think the criteria is there must be a hole, not just corrosion.

The dealer initially quoted £1,400 to do the brake pipes. We ended up at £630.

And it's not just any warranty extension. Its non dependant on service history or mileage.

Having seen the state of the rear pipes I think this is pretty inevitable in any case...
