UPDATE: I left it for an hour or so, then restarted the engine: the rear slowly slowly raised to normal height. There was a bit of a rattling noise this morning on start up when the fault occurred that I now think could have been a frozen pump?? It sounded like it was coming from behind the NS...

Interesting that you use the word "laggy". Do you mean it changes quicker or are you referring to the way it pulls away from stationary?

I really enjoy the Elegance interior of my 2004 E270 but I worry about the SCB and my car doesn't have heated seats: so I'm wondering if it would be worth trading up to the facelifted E. Are they better than the Pre facelift cars??

No, all checked and healthy. I collected the car form the garage today because he couldn't find a leak anywhere but the tail pipes are a little high and tucked up behind the rear bumper and the rear bumper is solid with mud, so maybe that was it. It seemed fine on the way home. :confused:

Pretty sure it's exhaust fumes: banging head ache and light headed. Nasty fumy smell after a few hours too.

KwikFit have checked the exhaust system and my Indie has checked everything else but cannot find any black sooty marks that would indicate where the leak is coming from. Any idea????

It's booked in for an ATF, filter and seal change now, and Kwikfit say the exhaust fumes in the car is from a failed seal/gasket between the turbo and exhaust so it's going into Glynn Dunford, my local Merc trained indie in Ulverston to have the lot done.
