Guess I have to agree with you that 'speed' kills, on the basis that 2 static objects are unlikely to collide with each other! The question is, what is 'excessive speed'? Do we go back to having someone walking in front of the car at 3mph with a red flag? Do we say that 30 is more than fast...

Glad you managed to get one eventually - I did a very similar thing when I bought the X5 - emailed 40 dealers (only did one per group) telling them exactly what I wanted, no paer-ex, etc, from which I got about 8 replies. Obviously life is that good that dealers don't want easy £60k+ sales!!

£30k sounds rather low for the time being - even LHD ones tend to start around £40k from the ones I've seen - would be surprised if there was a ready supply of them at £35k, let alone £30k. Saying that, I'll have a RHD SL500 for £35k if you find one!! :rock:

There is one camera in each direction on the M25 between M4 + M40 junctions within the variable speed limit (according to my RoadPilot) - if my bad memory serves me rightly, these were installed when the variable limit was extended up to the M40 (think it used to stop at the M4 junction...)...
