Turned out to be a leaking oil filter housing. New one fitted and no leak 👍

My 2011 E Class 250 with OM651 engine has an oil leak at back of engine. Any known places with these engines that are known to leak? Thinking timing chain cover, any thoughts.

May be worth getting egr cleaned and injectors tested/cleaned. Both would cause the issues you're getting. Session on Star would probably pinpoint the issue better though

I have the same engine and pretty much commute the same distance as you, about 13 miles. On a cold day, it only just reaches what I would call normal temperature, by the time I'm at work. As a previous poster said these engines have a large coolant supply, about 10 litres, so don't worry

Do you have manual gearchange, ie, steering wheel paddles? Be worth seeing if the car still changes gear manually, up and down. Keep us informed. All adds to knowledge [emoji106]

Are you sure it's not P2279? That indicates an air leak has occurred on the "metered" side of the intake manifold. There is more air entering the intake manifold than the mass airflow or MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor would suggest. If it really is P2779, then that's a transmission...

The DPF pressure sensor loves to fail on these engines. Italian tune up is pretty much a waste of time if the EML light comes on or is on. These cars will regenerate the DPF at less than 2000 rpm and restart a regen if the car stops or the parameters aren't met during a regen cycle. If it's the...

If you mean passenger side engine mount, then this is for some reason, the one that seems to perish. Cheap and easy to replace. Almost certainly that's your problem
