Help needed ! Take keys out of ignition ,radio goes off . Go to car in the morning radio is on and airbag light is on ! Lucky not to have flattened battery . Intermittent problem has happened 3 times in 3 weeks ! If I turn radio off with button on radio before take keys out this doesn't happen...

Question for you ! My esp/bas light is on and showing as steering angle sensor on diagnostic machine . It's a 2001 ml270 . Mercedes benz say it's all one unit in steering column part is £650 !! But I have seen sensors on ebay separate to column so this doesn't ring true ? Some as little as £50...

Crankshaft position sensor was problem with mine , cranked over but wouldn't start , changed sensor all sorted now !

Turned out to be crankshaft sensor running great now ! New battery on as well so let's hope end of starting issues !! Just got to sort out esp/bas light now ! Steering column sensor coming up on diagnostic machine anyone had any experience with this glitch ?!!

Took car out tonight , ran lovely no warning lights on then without warning engine cut out turning left and all warning lights came on ? Turned off ,car started after 3 attempts and ran fine as if nothing had happened ? Any ideas anyone ?

Thanks for that , have found independant mechanic with diagnostic tester . Taking it to see him tmoz , fingers crossed ! Will mention brake light switch . Got a new battery lets see if that helps

Having a nightmare with mercedes ml270 . Had 1 week . 3 times now has cranked over and not started . First 2 times just left a few mins ,tried again then it fired up . Today however no luck . Started twice then on third start of the day just turned over ? Battery went flat , tried with jump...

You could be right there wouldn't have threaded holes to take bolts but could get drilled and welded in , can't see why not . Got to be easier than messing about with seat belts ?

There is a mb garage just down the road from me in apsley so not to much hassle to get one apart from expense . Think I will get one . It's good they want to see log book or car otherwise anyone could get one ! Looking forward to picking it up now

Thanks for advise , I live near Watford but will look might be a key specialist round here , just presumed it would have to be mob garage. £250 a lot but not if u lose you're only key !!!

Just bought ml270 and it only has one key . Anyone got any idea how much a spare key costs ? Presume you have to go to main dealer ? Would be good to have spare unless it's silly money . Thanks in advance for any info

Thanks , was hoping it was bolted to chassis so might have been fairly simple . Might be possible to cut out of a car and weld on but prob too much hassle . Fingers crossed it has it or I will be in for a blast !!
