Any Builders in/around Hertfordshire? Garage Roof Truss mod for 4 post lift

Excellent, I was just worried you may expect a builder to know about structure (can you tell what I do for a living).

Any Builders in/around Hertfordshire? Garage Roof Truss mod for 4 post lift

I think you need a structural engineer rather than a builder, google "find an engineer" you should be able to get a list of a few local engineers from the IStructE website who can help you.

What is going on - No more Petrol/Diesel by 2040

I have the use of two cars at the moment, my CL500, and my wife's i3. To be honest I'm using the i3 most of the time (when it's available). My journeys range from 20miles to 200 miles. Most of the charging is done overnight but if we have a long journey, I just stop for a piss and a tea, plug...

Private Road query - issue with neighbouring property

I live in a private road with a RMC. The RMC owns the road, the 7 house owners are directors of the RMC. Regarding voting, a look at your articles of association, and the memorandum of agreement of the RMC should tell you how votes etc are dealt with. We manage the RMC ourselves with each house...

Is this the beginning of the end of the petrol engine.

SWMBO has had an i3 since march, to be honest it's now become the default car for all my business journeys. (Only fill the CL up once a month now). I'm well sold on EV's, at my age it's my bladder range rather than the cars range. Must admit I did chuckle at Volvos press release, it's very well...

    Artico or real leather!?

Some earlier cars (like w210) you could tell from the door card, if the insets were ruffled, it was leather, smooth not. As for later cars not sure.

Maybe just me but Audi indicator lamps are annoying

Don't like the way that if the sweep goes from a boot mounted light unit to a wing mounted light unit the gap between the units makes it looks like an led has blown. But ok if it's all contained in one light unit. At least it warns us that there is an Audi about........

    Holy Porton Down Batman!

Story in New Scientist saying they're not sure its actually VX. If it was they should have shut down the entire terminal when they found out.

    CL500 W215 drivers door electrics

The "double hinge" arrangement on these doors is a known wire weak spot, but as suggested it's odd that it appears just as the battery goes down

    New CL in Suffolk

Get to a good Indy and get the car on star to check the codes, let us know where you are and I'm sure people will tell you where to go locally

    Rosberg vs. Hamilton.

Rosberg slowed, played with his settings, red light came on telling the man behind he was harvesting, what was Hamilton expected to do in the third corner of a F1 race, brake?

    CL500 advice.

Well CL was diagnosed with a sticky valve in the OSF strut. Phil at Welwyn Merx has replaced the strut, and the supply pipe (seized connection) and we are now all sorted!

    i980 or MB2?

GP, I'm in the same boat myself, wondering what the difference is before I decide which to get. Wondering how deep it will report my ABC issues on my CL500

    CL500 advice.

Thanks for the info Borys I'll see how it goes over the next few days, as the warning seems to clear after a restart And the fluid level is ok I'll carry on driving, do some reading up, and then see about getting the codes read. Cheers

    CL500 advice.

Oh dear we have a problem with the W215 ABC warning message, wife was driving and got a ABC go to workshop message. When she got home I went outside restarted the car and it went. Checked the ABC reservoir, top mark on the dipstick when cold, lower mark after starting. Message came on again this...
