    CLK350 M272 cranks but won’t start

I think the main fuel filter is attached to the body near the fuel tank; it's somewhere that seemed unreasonably inaccessible given it's the first line of defence against contaminated fuel.

    Can I get some advice?

I guess we buy any car. - I'm disinclined to let them have the spares etc that would go to a new owner; MB roof rack, the jacket holders that go on the seat backs, set of control arms for the front axle, etc.

    Can I get some advice?

I think the dreaded M272 balance shaft has struck, but I'm also about to leave the country so want to offload the car rather than trying to fix it. Is there any value/interest in a CLK 350 with check engine light on, for the sake of all the bits that are not wrong with it (COMAND, parktronic...

    VOLTSWAGEN- no really

Yeah, they weren't supposed to have gone live with the joke so early. - Probably ruined the joke for VW in other territories.

    Engine Bay Cleaning

I tend to just open the bonnet and snow foam the engine bay after I've done the body. That probably doesn't achieve the really deep clean you're after, but it's quick, easy, and definitely leaves it cleaner than doing nothing.

    Left-foot braking

I used to do this more in the Nissan because I can keep the revs up (so turbo on boost) with the right foot and shed speed for cornering with my left foot. I still use that technique a little in the CLK, but it's not as useful with the V6... but launching by holding the brake with the left foot...

    M272 vs M273 Hp/Torque output

This has me intrigued now. If it's a detuning thing it's usually the other way around; take power from the V6 so that it doesn't out-perform the flagship V8. Holden used to do this with the supercharged (Buick) V6 when it first came out in Australia so that it didn't make more power than the...

Will changing wheels and tyres help?

That would be my suggestion too. - My winter tyres are on a 17" rim and definitely look taller than the 255/35/R18s on the rear.

    M272 vs M273 Hp/Torque output

Is the answer that it's tuned to produce more torque (via the constantly variable cam timing), so maximum power is compromised? There might be something similar if you compare the M272 with the M112. - The M272 hits maximum torque by ~2500 RPM and then holds that until ~5000 RPM (whereas the...

    W209 Drivers seat electrical connections

Sorry, I did also mean to post a photo... but I left the SD card in my PC so the camera didn't save any of the images I thought I'd taken. :wallbash:

W208 front seat not enough plugs

I believe that MB are not in the habit of installing looms/connectors for options that weren't selected at time of build, so it's entirely plausible that there's a different setup required for your new seats. I could be wrong.

    W209 Drivers seat electrical connections

If you can wait until later in the day, I'll go and look at mine. Just a couple of ideas: Are these original seats (has a previous owner retrofitted different seats for example)? Are these memory seats? - Do you have heaters and/or fans in them? Do you have the pneumatic support function...

    Best oil extractor?

I agree, but sometimes it's a PITA to jack the car up and take the sump plug out. - I do worry that an extractor won't suck up any sludge and debris from the sump, but if the filter looks pretty good when it comes out I feel reassured. As for which is the best, I don't know. - Cheap Chinese...

    Possibly the worst ever CLK

I'm pretty sure my 4-year old nephew has a Hot Wheels toy that looks like this. - It's certainly bright and shiny, but a CLK DTM it isn't.

    A209 performance airfilter

I think the general consensus is that the air filters are not limiting the power on the V6. - It may be more useful on an engine with forced induction running higher boost than MB expected. Having said that, knock yourself out! - There are other benefits like a different induction noise, and...
