    Soft top care

I used Renovo proofer about 2 weeks ago after reading Renovo vs Autoglym posts on this and other forums. Applied 2 coats with 2" brush 24 hours apart. Results were not too good IMHO. Little sign of water "pooling". Maybe it is best applied during the warmer months ?? We live right next to many...

    A209 2008 CLK 280 Fault Codes P0128, P0856

Today in my 209 1.8 I did a 137 mile run of which 60 miles was on a motorway at 70 mph and the remainder on mix of 50 mph + rural A Roads and some town stop start stuff. Returned home with a figure of 37.4 mpg. Very pleased with that! Coolant temp steady at approx 82.

    A209 2008 CLK 280 Fault Codes P0128, P0856

This thread has prompted me look at the coolant temp in my 209 albeit with a 1.8 M271 engine. During a 30 min run in town today it only just crept above 80 and mpg was around 27. I have had the CLK for only 3 weeks or so and the 90 % urban driving of a couple of hundred miles shows about 28 mpg...

In praise of the CL. Has there been a more perfectly shaped coupé?

My vote goes to the CLK C209 - looks "right" from all angles - so too does the Cabriolet.

Has anyone investigated whether a DAB radio fit is possible for A209 cars ?

    Tailored Mats

They are of course not as deep pile as MB supplied but my reason for buying them is that they are the same dimensions thus reducing the problem of debris gathering in the gaps surrounding poorly fitting "off the shelf" mats.

    Tailored Mats

Received my £15 A209 mats this morning via Amazon. Seem to be ideal as winter mats before the genuine MB items go back in for the summer.

    A209 Door speaker cover fitting

In view of the above, I intend to take the door card removal route to have the new cover fitted. Can anyone recommend a MB indie in Yorkshire to do this work ? It may not necessarily have to be a MB specialist, just someone who knows what they are doing with Model 209 doors ! Thanks

    Winter Lay Up. Keeping Dry?

The Uni Bond de-humidifiers which are "chemical" requiring no energy seem to work very well. Same idea I suppose as the crystals. They collect moisture in a container which is periodically emptied. They are small - about 10" high x 5" square so sit in a footwell with ease and cost about £8 from B&Q.

    A209 Door speaker cover fitting

Thanks Litcan91 for your reply and for posting the image. For the sake of clarity can you perhaps post a wider image for me? I don't understand how the image posted relates to the triangular speaker cover in question. It is the A209 CLK door you are referring to ? thanks

    A209 Door speaker cover fitting

The speaker cover is located in a "wedge" with door trim above and below it. There is no obvious visible means to remove just the cover, hence I am posting this to enquire if any other CLK owners have had to replace a damaged cover? Or as I suspect, the whole door card has to be removed??

    A209 Door speaker cover fitting

The door speaker cover on the right door has been badly cracked, probably I am told as a result of the door being closed on the metal buckle of the seat belt. A previous owner I might add ! Anyway, I have a replacement on its way in the post. The speaker itself still works. Can anyone please...

Roof cover for CLK A209 Cabriolet

I am wanting to source a "top half" car cover for my CLK to protect the soft top during severe weather. Can anyone please recommend such a cover which will do the job and is reasonably easy to remove when required. Additionally is there a recommended supplier for a FULL cover which is a...
