There is a known fault about the nox sensor wiring chaffing on the rear of the gearbox on Ml’s, that would bring up a nox fault but the problem is that you still can do an update, maybe not needed yet, but when a sensor fails it sounds like you’ll be in for a pair.

The dealer should contact Mercedes to see if the sensors could be changed under goodwill. We used to get loads changed under goodwill but that door has been closed and goodwill is harder to get.

Unfortunately the Star system knows what sensors are fitted to the car, if they are the old type, it will not allow the update to proceed as the old sensors are not compatible. Sometimes you have to change the cars data card to have 30o code too.

I suspect it requires the newer Nox sensors BEFORE an update can be carried out.

Yes complete unit, it comes without the control units so keep the light dry as the units are at the very bottom of light and water toasts them adding another £300 to your Bill. Will need recoding too

Never seen pad wear trip an abs sensor fault in 25 years of working on mercs and yes we do give out the Star test print out when it’s paid for.

Thanks, although 75% of the cars we see that are told they require brakes after a “free” Mercedes inspection don’t.

I would have gone with the first garage, very common fault and second garage just had you fro brake pads without diagnosing the fault. Brake wear will not cause an abs fault. Why didn’t you trust the first diagnosis? as the second one has replaced parts that have nothing to do with original fault.

Should be nothing, just refuse to do the work suggested. We have seen many cars with a massive list of which hardly any is required.

The release “holes” can only work when the key is turned to position 1. That goes for all the ign theft locks. Keep trying to wiggle key, the tumbler section of barrel snaps and moves away from inserted key, so it thinks wrong key is inserted.

Ok that pic is of the operating quadrant and clearly shows it operated in the on position. Follow the cable to the centre of car, above rear prop, I think there’s a toothed snail cam that needs to be turned to slacken the cables and the quadrants released.

The spring retainers will allow the shoes to move, if the adjuster is slackened right off, and the disc still doesn’t fit, you may need to reset (assembly position ) the self adjusting cable mechanism, adjust the shoes to disc and then release mechanism.

Some 211 shocks have an adjustable ring under the lower spring mount but you need to dismantle again to see.

I think your talking about the air matric pump which is mounted on springs and the filter/pipe is the air intake filter. Cut pipe and rejoin.

Just squirt a bit out and put your chosen screenwash in, not a big problem.

As an indie who see’s a simple fix warning light, say a side light or washer level light lit, I think it would be rude not to top up or fit a bulb but now if you do top up the screenwash your in the wrong???

That kit is fraction of the cost of the same parts from Mercedes, having been caught by a cheap chain from a well known aftermarket supplier, it not worth the risk.
