    2003 CLK 320 W209 spares or repair

Wow - stuck it on Facebook Marketplace too - every Romanian and Bulgarian in Aylesbury messaged me offering £500. Had about 20 Pakistanis looking for 'last price' and when I old them it was £750 they'd counter with £350. All in all about 80 enquires and 1500 views. A handful of genuine ones who...

    2003 CLK 320 W209 spares or repair

2003 W209 CLK320 Elegance Auto for sale - 90k miles - spares or repair £750 Located in Aylesbury. It failed the MOT on parts 11 and 13 in the diagram below on both sides at the front, I can't remember which of those two bushes I replaced but I can't see anything wrong with them. The other 2 are...

    car is totally dead.....

Update on this - I tried several kinds of battery chargers/trickle chargers/optimisers and the upshot is the battery starts the car just fine now! Freed off the front offside brake. Need to free off the parking brake too and it's good to go. Anyone want a 2003 CLK320 Elegance auto spares or...

    car is totally dead.....

I charged it up a fair few times in that period but i never disconnected it as i couldn't stop the alarm going off. I did go so flat the alarm light inside stop flashing more than once. It was just weird that one second everything seemed to work and the next its dead.

    car is totally dead.....

Ah right, no the earth strap is fine. Whoever guessed battery was correct. Its weird how it will charge, optimate says its ok, voltage is good but it provides zero juice. I charged it up agaim and this time got a little spark when connecting whicj was encouraging regarding fuses but the car was...

    car is totally dead.....

Yes, though surely there woul be signs of life when you opeb the car door? Ive just re tested the pre fuses properly by testing across the jump lead input point and the 5 outs. Thet are all fine

    car is totally dead.....

That's what I thought but they all seem fine as long as I was testing them in the correct manner. As far as I know there's not single main main fuse but 4 or 5 in sealed unit close to the battery with chunky wires bolted in and a central even chunkier one - it's the place to connect a jump lead.

    car is totally dead.....

Yes I can put some jump leads across from another battery but that doesn't really tally with the symptoms - one second fans working, stereo on, bright xenon lights the next absoollllllooooutely nothing. I will of isolate the battery to be certain but surely that's hugely unlikely. Voltage on...

    car is totally dead.....

nope...the car is utterly devoid of life. Not even a spark when connecting the battery.

    car is totally dead.....

My 2003 CLK 320 W209 has been standing for a while. Everything appeared to be working but when I tried to start it there was just a click and if I remember correctly the console went blank and it was lifeless. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and tried again - same thing happened - so...

Fix it or "spares and repairs"?

I guess that's what I'm asking - is there a demand for this sort of car if it's not cosmetically perfect? I'm trying to think who can afford the tax, insurance and fuel but then can only afford £1500 for a car. I've tried and I don't think there's enough access for a bolt on the top. I'm pretty...

Fix it or "spares and repairs"?

just to add......not so long ago (in miles terms) I had all the fluids changed, new filters throughout and new plugs. I think that came to about £500 or £600.

Fix it or "spares and repairs"?

I'm the 3rd owner of a 2003/04 CLK 320. It was the private car of the manager of Mercedes dealership before my brother in law bought it, I got it from him when it was about 4 or 5 years old. I want to sell it but it failed the MOT on front suspension bushes at the front. I've seen original...

    Spark plugs on CLK320 - What a b££tard

Actually remembering back now - I think Star in reading said it would be £90 in labour to change the plugs which is not a bad business to be in for 23 minutes work :) I'm think I'm going to try the garage here - I sent them the video of the cap puller and also of the bendy rod to measure auto...

    Spark plugs on CLK320 - What a b££tard

I told him it's a big job but he's adamant he'll stick to the price That's exactly what concerns me - I guess if they damage stuff that has to be replaced then they will pay for parts - that's what (I hope) fixed price means. My worry is they might cause damage that's not apparent until later...

    Spark plugs on CLK320 - What a b££tard

Waking up an old post. A local garage, reputable but not a Merc Specialist, have fixed price servicing (inc parts) for £225 including oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, brake fluid, anti freeze and spark plugs. I mentioned that I'd been quoted fairly close to that for spark plugs alone...
