Update Guys. Still not had live data read. (Technician snowed under and now on holiday) But my reader seems to have abandoned `throttle position ` fault, and consistently brings up P0244 - turbo wastegate actuator solenoid A range, and Mercedes specific P1402 -exhaust back pressure. I presume...

Morning Guys. W203 facelift, OM646 engine. EML light on and diagnosis reads " P0123 throttle position sensor `A`circuit high." Anybody have experience of this? Where is this sensor? On the intake manifold? Near the pedal? Any pointers appreciated. Thanks for reading.

A simple check. If the big diameter hose from the thermostat to the top of the radiator feels to be warm within 5 minutes of the engine starting from cold ; the thermostat is faulty. Stuck open.

To buy an automatic RWD Merc. Something they`re good at.

My advice to the OP; Get it serviced. Get it sold.

Arn`t B boxes these fancy CVT things? If it was an ordinary 722 box, I`d say good for another 20k miles.

The key will not be released until `Park` is engaged..

The car has already switched itself off on a roundabout, and the key has yet again been stuck. Next time it happens, it may lock the steering wheel. :eek:

I`m with Dickster.on this. The Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) could be faulty. It could initiate cranking with no injection Those guys in B`ham could fully test it together with the key.

They were good cars. Made before DPFs and all this sensor nonsense. Mine did starship miles, didn`t use oil or water, and could run on biodiesel if needed. I had to fit new inner wishbone bushes, a few fuel plastic pipes and seals like johnsco and two new front wings. Pity about the...
