oh I dont know where the tracker is actually located, I just meant if the alarm thought it was being tampered with becuase of strange currents from thick soldering, it could trigger an alarm and trigger the tracker aswell.. ? but again not sure if it works that way, with my old car the tracker...

The service guy told me that the water corrodes the wiring to the alarm aswell, but becuase of the two way current and current detection for the tamper simply cutting the wires and soldering on new bits could cause problems and false tamper alarms which would be annoying to say the least...
