They said it was started in the fuse box situated in the lefthand corner of the boot. Can i get an official report from them and then take this to mercedes?

what would the proper procedures of investigating this incident - do i contact mercedes?

Just had it serviced when i got the car, nothing around the fuse box in the back. I think you are right it should be investigated and claimed against mercedes if possible. A similar incident happend to a my wife's friend in their peaugeot - they were lucky to get out of the car when they did...

yes has parktronic - its been towed to a garage for the insurance to look at, will let you know if i can my hands on it. As it was an electrical fire in the fusebox in the boot not sure if that would be any use anyway?

i paid around £250 inc labour for (disc’s + pads, front + rear), oil, oil filter, pollen filter, and some other bits small pully and belt - friend who is a merc specialist based in nuneaton, think the brakes were around £70. clk320 - w209 - 2002

I have the same problem on my clk 320, very annoying, i'm going to try to claim this on the extended warrenty i have taken out with waranty direct, did get a quote from the stealers - from £250- £1000 depending on which motor was faulty
