Right with you - I've had my 420 for 6 months now and it'll pull a house up the road if you ask it. I do a regular 90 mile round trip commute and get 27mpg. The 320 I tested was gutless in comparison and its average over the previous 1500 miles was 27 mpg. I got the Brabus D8 tuning box which...

Oh Boy - the GL420 is THE car for you. Brabus D6 chip, so 6.5sec to 60 which surprises the bells off of a few boy-racers, Awesome HK 7.1 surround, 35mpg [seriously], as comfortable and quiet as an S-Class....and [being 6'6"] my 6'6" son can sit behind me in total comfort & watch his own DVD...

I've had 48hours with the Brabus D8 on the GL and it's working out very well so far.......it's noticeably quicker off the mark and a lot livelier...the old 3 second turbo lag has gone down MPG on a steady motorway run is also improved - hitting 39 yesterday. Well worth the second-hand...
