Classic Car and Restoration Show - NEC

My own opinion is this show is nowhere near as good as the November one.

    What's Everyone Watching on TV

The one thing I find astonishing is his ability to switch hands. I write usually with the left but can use right, play guitar right handed, can use various other things right or left handed and normally play pool left handed but can switch to right. In no way do I have the same level of control...

    What's Everyone Watching on TV

Didn't catch it as was babysitting. :( I've watched snoooker since way back in the Pot Black days when I watched with grandad. Has to be said that Ronnie is quite simply the best player the sport has ever seen. Wether you like him or don't there is no argument on his exceptional talent.

It's the weight of the base and the vertical post pushing in to the floor. Obviously have to ensure when lifting with these that the centre of gravity is correct but we're used to this with our old lift and it's really for lifting the little cars. Good explanation here of the older version of...

We have it set very narrow for the little car. It's rated at 2.5t and I've seen them lift things up to this, the counter balance is all in the vertical beam and as long as you don't put the car over the centre of gravity it's good. Will still use stands under it though just for belt and braces.

As easy to move as a pallet truck. 😉 Pretty impressed with it, very nice bit of kit, lifts the little cars with ease. Will likely lift the car, lower it onto High Position axle stands then we can move the lift away and use it on another car.

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

New rear ABS ring fitted to W204 estate. Usual fault where old one had delamintaded and the outside part was inside hub. Pain of a job, stupid design.

Booking Channel Tunnel return journey from France

Cost is not as important to us as is the convenience and the time. Might do the tunnel for the convenience. Our drive down that day has us doing someting like 12 hours so pretty sure we will be keen to get over to Calais and into the hotel before the early start the next day for the next leg.

Anyone any recent experience comparing Tunnel to Ferry prices? We'll have a late evening (22:00) UK-France car crossing on Wed. 31st January with a return I think on Tue. 6th Feb. Tunnel looks to be about twice the cost of the ferry at the moment.
