Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Whilst out cycling today I saw a white Honda NSX. The latest style. It was on a 16 plate but apparently they weren’t sold in Europe until 2017. It was immaculate.

    Interesting cars on your road

Next door neighbour has a Cayenne with the V8 engine. Three doors away an Audi RS5 with modified exhaust and an early 90s 911. Only 7 houses in the road. The rest, us included, just have ordinary cars.

For the subframe a full MB history is not required.

Mercedes Body Shop Repair - Who do you recommend?

This lot are superb. Car Body Repair | Kraftwork Vehicle Refinishing | Chelmsford. They have done some amazing work on our son's classic Volvo. They also recently worked on his Ioniq 5 which was botched by the Hyundai approved body shop. When the detailers collected it to reapply the ceramic...

Hello Guys, awesome MB club. Right so i have plans on buying a Clk 200 w209 that is driven 180... what are usually the problems that people have had?

We have had our 2003 200K from new. In that time it has had a new fan controller and alarm siren. It also had a new airbag module under warranty (the horn would sound every time the steering wheel was turned). Other than that just routine maintenance. The original battery lasted until earlier...

    W124 300CE 24 non runner

I can thoroughly recommend Ollie and co at PCS in Horndean. Used to look after our 124 although a later model. In fact Ollie bought it off us. They certainly know their stuff on the older models. Might be worth a call and getting it transported down if they think they can help.

    Mechanics seat cover

I also have a Titan cover for the XC40 which is used to protect the seat after cycling events. Fits very well but they dont list the E-class as an option. The covers in the link I posted look identical so may just be another source for the same range

    Mechanics seat cover

You could try Mercedes E Class Waterproof Seat Covers (2002 to 2009) - Seat Covers UK They offer options to fit pretty much every e-class from the 124

    W212 Rear subframe

They did our 2005 R171 SLK in December 2021. Even provided an E-class coupe as a loan car but only after a lot of persuasion!

    Clk boot hinge

Split/folding seats were standard on the CLK W209

    Sub frame

Subframes rot from the inside. Very hard to spot before it actually forms a hole. MB service history is not essential. Our 2005 SLK subframe was replaced FoC by MB in late 2021.

    3rd Brake light on SLK171 200

I tried to do this. Like you I couldn't work out how to do it. It was a very easy job on the 209. Anyway i got my trusty Indie to do the job. Took about 20 minutes max.

    Steering rack bolts recall

Our neighbours CLS went in for the steering recall in late June. They found all bar two of the bolts had sheared off and disappeared! Parts are not due to arrive until sometime in September. After much complaining they have a GLA 200 courtesy car.

    Indy specialist recommendations in wiltshire?

PCS Horndean do have several loan cars. I have been taking our MBs there for many years. You will not be disappointed

    C180 Exhaust Options. 2008 Kompressor

Our 209 is still on its original exhaust at 20 years old. The 124 lasted 23 years. If MB still offer one they certainly do last and may be worth the price premium.

Need urgent help! I am unable to see service history of my car and think I am getting ripped by MB.

Sevice plans are transferrable. If it was paid upfront then it will cover you for any unused services on the plan.

    Insurance is a JOKE

It's the IG postcode. Our son used to live in one and insurance was triple that when in an RH postcode. Incidentally Chris Knot were by far the most competitive for him on both his cars. He has now moved to RM postcode and the premium has gone down 50%.

    'Comedic' renewal pricing - Churchill

Just had the renewal for the SLK. £209 compared to £238 last year. Renewed the CLK last month for £188 - exactly the same as the previous year. Not sure why ours buck the trend. Maybe we are in that sweet spot where premiums reduce as you get older but not so old they rise again.

Low mileage s211 value and best insurance

You could try Chrisknott.co.uk for agreed value. They cover our 2003 CLK on an agreed value policy via LV. It's only a 200k but low mileage and high spec. They valued it based on photos every second year. It's covered for £6000 whereas wbac says about £1000. The only stipulation is that if it's...

    2014 slk250 - no total closure?

It was an option on our earlier SLK (2005 R171). Ours has it but I think we have used it maybe once in 18 years.
