    Mercedes W201s-Thoughts?

I don't expect to find anything cheaper really, but expect it to be about the same, likely a little more.

    Mercedes W201s-Thoughts?

My Rover 2000 was on a classic policy with a 6k limit TPFT for £1k last year, and that was tough getting it that cheap. A 190 is going to be around the same, with 2.6s being a fair bit pricier, even on a classic policy. At present the Rover is on a modern policy, unlimited miles, with Lancaster...

    Mercedes W201s-Thoughts?

    I think I spotted a similar 190, with 23k on it, on ebay for £2750. I've spotted a nice 190D on pistonheads for £1500.

    CLS 350 petrol

I'd be tempted to go with the petrol model, due to the saving, and using some of the saving, consider an LPG conversion, which would then make it a very viable proposition, in my eyes.

    Mercedes W201s-Thoughts?

I spotted that on ebay last night. My only concern with a 2.6 is the insurance, since I'm only 20, and my insurance is over £1k for the 1.8 and 2.0. Are 190Ds worth a look too, or am I better to stick to petrol?

    Mercedes W201s-Thoughts?

After more than a year of ownership, I've decided that now's the time to sell my 1967 Rover 2000, and replace it with something slightly more modern which I can use daily, and still enjoy. I've decided that a Mercedes 190 is an option which is definitely worth exploring. So, what's the general...

    A Class Suspension?

All A-classes have a rather harsh ride. It's just a characteristic of the car. The LWBs are a bit better, but still slightly crashy over bumps. It's when the ride stops being harsh, that you need to worry!

Another great driving day, up the northwest, what are you waiting for.

Looks like a brilliant trip, Steve! I'm going to be doing a trip to Skye and back, over two days, not in the Merc I'm afraid, but in my Rover P6, as it needs a good run, and I think it'll be a lot of fun! Another trip up there is definitely on the cards in the A-class. I love driving around my...

Sorry, I seem to have posted the same message twice.

    Teenagers Party

I'm a 19 year-old chap, so I've been to the odd house party. Most have been civilised affairs, but they can get out of hand. Uni flat parties are terrible, from my experience. I'm not really a party fan, so when I was informed by my 11 flatmates in my halls last year, that there was to be a flat...

    Was a nice car.... Once

I think that there's a Lexus under there rather than a Merc. They've just used W220 light units.

    My New Car....

I missed this thread with being away, but it looks like a very nice purchase. I couldn't agree more as regards the wheels, but aside from that, it looks great. You could also consider the EVO wheels as found on A210s, but of course, they're not correct for the age of your car. Might be cheaper...

    After 16 years hibernating...

That looks utterly wonderful! I wish I could find a car in such condition after it's been sitting that long! I look forward to reading the updates on your 123!

Requesting advice from our Scottish members :-

Generally petrol is easy enough to find, though it's better to fill up on the mainland if you can in some cases, as fuel prices are extortionate on many of the Western Isles. I can highly recommend Skye as an Island. I've been there several times, and the scenery is wonderful. If you're...

W168 ASR, ESP and stability - where exactly is the problem?

The 17" alloys will definitely be a contributing factor I'd say, as they have a very low profile, and are unlikely to be the wheels your car arrived with. If you can find some correct 15" Avantgarde items for your car, it should make quite a difference, and I imagine that you'll get a good sum...

Tax Exempt, is it worth it?

Tax Exempt, is it worth it?

The 2200TC is indeed a great compromise, but unless a car has had an engine swap, there are no tax exempt 2200s. In the future, perhaps I'd consider changing to a TC head, but at the moment, insurance really restricts me to an SC, and it just so happened that I chose an automatic example. I...

W168 ASR, ESP and stability - where exactly is the problem?

That sounds completely normal in a W168, swb especially, I'm afraid. Ride quality is poor in the A-class, generally. If you hold the steering wheel properly it's not too much of a problem, and you do get used to it. I can't say I've ever felt the W168 is unstable, though it is very sensitive to...
