    Seen it plenty of times. Its called a harmonic balancer designed to take vibrations away from the crankshaft. Its basically a rubber bush inside a metal housing. The rubber breaks down and falls out causing a huge vibration on the crank.

    That rail is just a guide and does nothing to tension the chain. If the chain is noisy/rattling/stretched you need to find out why. Like I said, its usually the gears on the end of the camshaft.

    Have you got fuel delivery pressure from the tank to the HPP? 2 ways of checking that, either with a fuel pressure tester or with a Xentry machine. Sounds like you're throwing parts at it without actually doing any proper diagnosis. The most expensive and frustration way to fix a car.

    I unlocked everything on my wifes ML320CDI. Increase in MPG from 29mpg on a run to 36mpg. 21mpg to 27mpg in urban and added an extra 40BHP and a better torque curve. The boys at GAD will give you exactly what youre after because they dont install generic files like most "tuners" do.

    I'd say your fault code definitions arent helping you to be honest. They arent codes I recognise as usual fault codes. The MAP barometric pressure could indicate an air leak. My advice is dont delete anything further, let it collect data and then get it on Xentry.
