My 2003 w203 c230 with 68,000 miles does about the same I think. I doubt you would see any from the exhaust these days at the cat will catch most of it. By the time it is smoking from exhaust you have big problems and probably a damaged cat.

Alternator changed, fault codes cleared and garage charged 2 hrs labour. So far voltages looking better 14.0 on tickover (13.8 old alternator) and 14.5 while driving (old 14.2). So far no dash warnings or voltage spikes so fingers crossed it is sorted. Thanks

I had a great box on my TD4 it was adjustable for both power and throttle response. It was like a different car. The box was made by a chap called 'Rover Ron' have a search as he does make them for lots of other cars. If yours isn't listed send him an email.

If you have a search on 'air bubbles' you will see that people have had issues with extended cranking when the clear pipes get air bubbles in. I think the cure is to fit new clear pipes. Hope that helps a bit.
