    R129 500SL.The soft top appears shrunk .

Wet (soak) the fabric and see if it comes down further. It may have shrunk. It probably has had the window replaced or resewn at some stage, possibly not refitted correctly. A new top isn't expensive from the US and you can fit it yourself if you're handy.

What do these switches do on seat - 2009 E350 Coupe

Sit in the seat and operate the switches, it isn't something you will really see but you will feel it. Unusual for both not to work.

    W220 LHR door catch assy

Good day, I need to replace my door latch. The procedure to remove involves releasing the outer handle carrier from inside the door. Refitting the catch is not possible with the carrier in place, and if you leave it loose then you can't get to it to fit after you've fitted the catch. Has anyone...

Yellow spots on body near rear tyres

You may think this is a stupid question, but in the trade we hear lots of them. "My window tint, that was on the used car already when I bought it from you10 years ago has bubbled. Will you replace it for free". "My daughter bought her used car five years ago and the battery failed and when we...

Converting W220 Central Locking to Electric

I want to convert the vacuum central locking in my W220 to an electric system. I've taken a look at the door interiors and it looks possible. My problem is what I want to use the original key remote to unlock and lock the car. Are there any suggestions where I can tap into to receive this...

    W220 99 320S

Greetings from down under! I arrived home and discovered my central locking wasn't working. Later I went to move the car and found the steering felt heavy, then on driving the transmission appears to be in limp mode, 2nd gear, 3000 rpm max, speedo not working, esp and abs lights on too. Other...

    Was I cheated?

Being a dealer in fine motors I wouldn't have a leg to stand on when the OP came back. Refund is simply made. Whether the dealer knew or not or is a scallywag doesn't come into it, the car isn't as represented. Of course I don't live in the UK ...

Tree falls on car: Who's responsible?

More confusion reigns on the roads...

Try driving 1000 miles with a 62mph limit. Brisbane to Townsville and most of Australia has 62 mph (100 kmph) limit, 110 kmph on some stretches. Fixed cameras and mobile/stationery camera all over the place. Try that for boredom. KJ
