    The dreaded sub frame .

Well after 4 week wait I have my car back with a brand new subframe supplied and fitted free under warranty. The fitter also soaked all the underside with Waxoil. Reckons it was one of the nicest old cars he's ever driven 😁

    The dreaded sub frame .

Thank you, It is Ashford MB (Lookers) who have it booked in on 22 March for assessment. They didn't seem at all flustered by my request, I mentioned I'm a service manager myself (trucks) so understand the warranty process. Hopefully that will stop them trying to fob me off 😂

    The dreaded sub frame .

Yes I know that, but some dealers are more accommodating than others. Hence my question "Has anyone had any success with Kent dealers"?

Called Chipsaway after a Gritter lorry encounter

The problem is silver is a heavy paint due to the amount of metal in it, which can cause sag's, run's and if applied too heavy can cause the metal flakes to sink, Also the lacquar (excuse spelling) we use has a high cellulose which if applied to heavy can have a "jet" wash effect. I know some...

Called Chipsaway after a Gritter lorry encounter

I doubt MB UK will be aware that the repair was carried out as it was done by what looks like a work shop trolley being pushed around the car whilst at the stealership. Also it was 95% on the bumper (so no chance of rust) and only a tiny down to metal scratch on the panel under rear light cluster.

Called Chipsaway after a Gritter lorry encounter

Good luck with your ChipsAway job, as others have said here the repair is down to the operator. I did a new W211 the other day which was a Merc' direct purchased car. It came with a nice scratched bumper which I was asked to correct for the new owner (A senior partner in a adult shop chain...

    Battery Replacement

When I required a new battery on my W210 the local Brabus (Kent) garage fitted it for free and they were not expensive. I would enquire at MB first, you may be suprised at cost.
