    ML500

Going back quite some time and several cars ago I had a Year 2000 CLK230 with seats that colour. They were quite vibrant but looked good in the sleek CLK. It helped that the car was black. Like others have said it’s almost certainly a ‘designo’ interior. One thing worth noting is designo...

    Poor service

I don’t have a MB at the moment but went into the Cambridge dealer about 6 months ago to ask about seven seater E Classes. I was told quite bluntly that there was no such thing as a seven seater E Class. I’m British so I obviously apologised for coming into their dealership asking about their...

    Third Row Seats - S211

Thanks for taking the time to reply Merc85. Can you tell me more about your situation? For example how numerous and how old are your kids and are they in booster seats, etc?

    Third Row Seats - S211

Happy news in the Rose Chap household. My wife is expecting our third child and he's due to arrive and meet his two brothers in May. Some of you correctly surmised this after this thread: Three child seats in S212? so hats off to you, budding Lieutenant Columbos. Like all petrol head fathers...

    Non MB connectivity help please?

As a man who currently owns one Toyota and one Lexus (ok, so two Toyotas) the ‘problem’ you’re having is simply configuration. Somewhere in the settings you’ll find an option to change the way the map displays as you’re driving, and if the option you want isn’t there, then it’s a limitation of...

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?

Great thread. In this song, the protagonist articulates a view that some Police have pre-conceived ideas that reflect badly (the singer’s position is he believes they would prefer he was incarcerated) on him and his companion (Lorenzo), as they roll (drive) in their (Mercedes) Benz-o (Benz)...

E63 - How noisy is it?!

I always hear my neighbour start his DMS tuned F10 BMW M5, and think it's a very nice sound indeed. Kind of an angry bark followed by purposeful burble. It must be said I don't hear him start their Skoda Octavia estate or new Land Rover Discovery (but it's a Land Rover so it's probably broken...

    S212 E350 CDI - versions?

Don’t get all rational on me now! Go back to voicing the gleeful devil on my shoulder as this pops up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    S212 E350 CDI - versions?

Great information, thanks for your comments and the insights are really helpful. All things being equal I’d rather not buy a diesel powered car, but if you’re in the market for a used large estate with a decent badge and reasonable performance, just try finding one that isn’t a diesel...

    S212 E350 CDI - versions?

Now this is the kind of logic I can get on board with! The value of non Euro VI diesels will presumably be knocked when the charges start coming in. This is good to know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    S212 E350 CDI - versions?

Forgive my ignorance, but other than newness and presumably marginally improved efficiency over the previous generation what’s the benefit of Euro6 vs Euro5/4/n? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    S212 E350 CDI - versions?

This is definitely confusing! With apologies if this has been covered before, but there seems to be (at least?) the following flavours of E350 CDI in W212/S212 guise. 231 bhp, 7G Gearbox 265 bhp, 7G Gearbox 265 bhp, 7G+ Gearbox Then there are other factors like the CO2 being different...

    S212 E350 CDI - versions?

Great information, thank you all very much. Post 2014s are a bit beyond what I’m willing to pay at the moment but it does help that I know to look for late 2011 or newer straight DRL cars. I’m guessing the updated gearbox is just that, not simply software that could be applied to an older...

    S212 E350 CDI - versions?

Forum brethren, My family car searches are leading me towards a S212 E350 CDI. However its seems there are variations of torque outputs, mpg, 0-62, carbon dioxide (hence tax), etc between otherwise very similar models. Pictures are from (the excellent) AutoTrader iPhone app. Does...

    Three child seats in S212?

Thank you for the tip. They are expensive but presumably less expensive than having to buy an Audi Q7 and less soul destroying than owning a French diesel MPV. [emoji846] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Three child seats in S212?

Hypothetical question... Is anyone on the forum using three child seats in the rear of their S212 E Class Estate (2010 ish onwards)? I know only the outer two rear seats have Isofix which is ok, but I’m curious as to whether there is sufficient space in the middle for the usual bulky car...

    Should I? W212 Hybrid Touring

I tend to agree, thanks for taking the time to show the figures. My gut tells me that a S212 E220 CDI is basically a sound car, but the diesel bit is the wildcard. I'm in no hurry so the Prius can soldier on for another 10,000 miles before I seriously need to think about this.

    Should I? W212 Hybrid Touring

Out of curiosity I did a warranty quote for a 12 plate E250 CDI with 71,000 miles and tier one cover was nearly £2K per annum. Another quote for 61 plate E220 CDI with 60,000 miles and the quote for tier one was just over £1K per annum. My rationale for doing this is not necessarily because...

    Should I? W212 Hybrid Touring

Thanks for this information, very helpful. Based on this car: 2014 Grey MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS 2.1 E300 CDI BlueTEC SE 7G-Tronic Plus 5dr for sale for £11899 in Beckenham, Borough Of Bromley I could buy something called a ‘DriveLine Warranty” from Mercedes for £1632.96 per year. DriveLine is...

    Should I? W212 Hybrid Touring

Thanks for these responses, very insightful. I’d missed that MB are no longer making the hybrid - that fact alone is quite alarming. Does anyone have any ballpark figures for the cost of a Tier1 warranty on something like a E300 Hybrid? I did a quite google search and the answer is not...
