Same here, not sure but in the past a split was a fail and a crack was a pass? He's claiming the split is at the back..... I will be taking it back to him as the part is under warranty. It's not a dodgy garage, very by the book etc and they test the local buses etc. The guy is a first class...

MOT tester failed my S211 today due to as he put the lower rubber being split. On examination, the rubber is not split but cracked and nothing that would cause grease to leak etc. Where do I stand with this? Can I contest? The joint was only changed in october last year.

Iirc, the 211 had a DPf as an option and very few were ticked...

Hmmm, I do also note that my gear changes can affect my mpg quite considerably which is why i always do the throttle reset thing which might be a placebo but I always feel a difference after its been done.

Even beemers have their issues, a family member has a 320d which has just had a new steering rack fitted due to a common fault.... Just shy of the £1k mark to fit, then there's the swirl flap issue which,ok has been solved on facelift models but there's still a lot out there yet to go pop...

At a guess, 50MPH at 1000 rpm? for a long journey? which I rarely do. Best I have had is 44ish on a run to Birmingham crusing at around 80ish. Locally, I can drop down to the low 20s in heavy stop start traffic but average around the 29s in medium traffic. I am a bit dissapointed with the...
