    Breaking W202 C230K w/C36 parts.

Bump! Winter tyres! You need ‘em, I got ‘em. Probably should have mentioned sooner that they’re totally for sale without the wheels! Just some good quality Michelin Alpin 5s in 205,55,16. I’d hate to throw them away but can’t keep them forever and they won’t fit the new car. Make me an offer...

    Breaking W202 C230K w/C36 parts.

Just a few photos and an updated list of what I’ve got. The engine is solid and runs beautifully and the gearbox (auto) has never missed a beat. The mileage is 105k and change. Can totally remove them from the car if anyone wants and have them ready for collection. If no one wants the complete...

    Breaking W202 C230K w/C36 parts.

Hi everyone. Long time lurker and occasional poster here; breaking my 230k because rust has destroyed the subframe and it can’t be saved . I don’t know if anyone on here still has any interest in these old cars, but mechanically she’s sound as a pound. I’ll list some of the bits I can think...

    W202 c240 sport any good?

I’d say the 230k isn’t a whole lot better, 30ish on a run and mid/low 20s around town and country.

    W202 c240 sport any good?

I like the 230k. I have a 230k, but I didn’t look after it properly and now it’s dying rapidly from rust. KillerHERTZ is right, unless you invest a shed load on proofing or buy one that someone else has done, it will disappear before your very eyes.

W202 - Do Sport and Elegance have different shocks ?

Thanks all for the clarification. Managed to source some sport springs potentially so all is well. Odd that you can no longer buy specific trim level springs from ECP as I doubt people with sport suspension would want their car riding that much higher. Oh well. Cheers guys, GA.

W202 - Do Sport and Elegance have different shocks ?

Bringing this thread back from the dead (cheers google), but I'm wondering if ECP or me is going mad. The different models (elegance, sport, etc) do have different springs right?? The part numbers are the same for both models on ECP so I'm somewhat confused.

    Locking Wheel Nuts

When I lost the key to mine I simply hammered a 19mm socket over them and twisted them off, 20 seconds and a lump hammer. Haven't bothered with locking wheel nuts since :D

£100 parking invoices are resonable after all

The punishments for most crimes, however, have a sense of proportionality about them. It's hard to adopt an "it's a fair cop" attitude to a £100 parking ticket. Well I find it's hard anyway :D

£100 parking invoices are resonable after all

Apparently the supreme court disagrees and even goes so far as to enshrine in legal precedent their right to make money this way, despite the fact that most people (myself included) would agree with you. This was a perfect opportunity for the courts to decide a reasonable upper limit on these...

    Number plate holders

As long as you don't mind drilling holes into your bumper, or i suppose you could always glue the holder on in some way. I have something similar on my car and they've been no trouble, they hold the number plate, can't ask for more than that :thumb:

    MOT Emissions advice please.

Morning all, So my indie checked the car over this morning and mixed emotions were felt when he said all was well, on the one hand having something to fix and therefore maybe help pass the mot would have been nice, but it's also good to hear there's nothing apparently wrong with the car. A...

    MOT Emissions advice please.

It failed. Worse values than yesterday. I've come to the conclusion that the garage is blissfully unaware that there is no cat. Or there's a tiny chance that there's a second stage one in the back box, which is poached from a c36. Can anyone confirm or deny? The garage is essentially next door...

    C43 exhaust X-Pipe wanted

Power and performance in honningham, I've heard good things from my indy about them. Also Demand engineering in Stonham Aspall in suffolk (perilously close to ipswich I know but needs must) did a lovely job on my stainless straight through for my c230k, couldn't recommend them highly enough.

    MOT Emissions advice please.

I did think about sticking a bottle of redex in it, however, I heard it can make emissions worse in the short term as it actually cleans the injectors and the sh*t is thrown out down the pipe. Could be nonsense of course. Re-test in a little while so it's going out for run shortly, if it fails...

    Recirculated air flap problem (C208)

Do you have any live diagnostics data? I've heard it's very helpful for diagnosing kompressor problems. HERE is a link to thread that covers a fair few basic problems with the supercharger not kicking in. Hope it helps. edit: HERE is another potentially useful thread.

Ha, hadn't thought of that! If he notices today I'll be sure to make that argument :p

    MOT Emissions advice please.

Thanks guys for the advice, I've got a free re-test tomorrow (today technically) so I'll try giving it a blast and then straight into the test, hopefully that'll do the trick. Still clinging to the hope that I can get away without getting a sport cat, but I'll suck it up and buy one if...

    MOT Emissions advice please.

Afternoon all. Recently had the exhaust replaced on the 230k with a straight through stainless job, including (stupidly?) a cat delete. Just got the car back from the garage and somewhat unsurprisingly the car failed on emissions. However, it didn't fail by much at all. Predictably it...
