Newer Mercedes cars had Burmeister premium sound. I have heard people are not very happy with Burmeister audio package? Do Rolls and Bentley still have Mark Levinson or Naim as their suppliers? These electronic brands are premium.

Your W208 had Bose audio? Bose sounds much better than stock factory audio system. You can tear everything out and install Kicker system, it will kick your ears off! 👍 If it sounds good I dunno? Did MB cheap out on the W209 compared to W208 build quality?

I viewed all photos it looked rotted down under in several places. Perhaps sills are in better shape?

Intake hoses gets hard and brittle with years, they won't hold tight, could result in surging RPM

The blue one looks very nice unfortunately rotted underneath like many previous UK C43's.

Could you have a vacuum leak from intake hoses?

If you don't know how to do the job properly leave it to someone else who knows. The chain is quite long you need help from a fella to hold it for you while inserting it into the engine

If you give us photos of the damage people could give you advice what to do. Maybe you should go through insurance company and they fix the car?
