Thanks for the tip, disconnected and there's no change. Today's new thing - There's a 5amp drain on the battery with the key out. I'm starting to think it's the key module.

The sensor's tip has broken off so I guess it's fubar.

Hi all. I'm battling various electronic gremlins. Would a broken (and damaged) ambient temp sensor that's reading 100c make the Front SAM go nuts? I can't turn the key, brake lights on all the time key in or out. Many bananas things wrong with this thing. :bannana:

Evening all. My PITA W203 C 240 has a problem with the brake lights stuck on even with fuse 62 taken out. I've recently replaced the BAS/ABS module to sort out a BAS/ABS error which seems fine now. Doing that job I disconnected the battery and it's since then the brake lights are stuck on...

On my PITA C240 2001 I had the same thing, it was the BAS/ABS module. Some people are lucky and it's just the brake light switch (if you have one). Use a good code reader or go to a STAR machine to narrow it down.

Update to this. Changed the rear SAM for a used one from eBay but the symptoms persist. Brake lights stay on with ignition. However on the one I got the fuel pump relay the car wouldn't run, the fuel pump relay contacts were badly corroded. I'm going to send it back for another or a refund.

I've changed that already troubleshooting a problem with BAS. Also I can see real-time on my Foxwell code reader that the switch is ON/OFF etc.
