    C200 or C220 Diesel W204 MPG comparison

For what it's worth, I'm getting good results with the c250 version, averaging around 60mpg since new 40k miles ago, about a quarter of which has been city commuting.

    250Cdi engine observations.

Mine stays pretty constant at 90deg also and these warmer days it doesn't take too long to reach that mark. But I do notice the start/stop turns from green to orange sometimes without warning, even after driving for over an hour. I don't let it idle for long so can't help there I'm afraid.

    Average mpg

Yes have kept a log on Fuelly and obc is 6-7% optimistic

    Average mpg

I'm getting consistently good results from the BE c250 deisel, especially after the dealer re-flashed my ECU 17k miles ago which is when I reset the OBC. For m'way cruising the sweet spot is below around 1900 rpm (just over 70mph) above which it drops off significantly.

    Boiler Advice

Each to their own but I recently had a system boiler installed and was advised to get a 22mm water feed from the mains rather than the existing 15mm. So not a cheap or simple option but I'm delighted with the result - mains pressure hot and cold taps/showers etc and can run multiple...

How much is a parking space worth?

You may wish to check out what the various commercial resellers of parking spaces are charging in your area in addition to the small classified ads.

C250 cdi 11 plate faults under warranty

Might be worth checking whether they've replaced the injectors (several threads on this). Mine's a 61 plate and the main dealer swapped them for piezo ones at first service.

Thinking About Buying A C63 AMG

I've used this one in the past: Êàòàëîã çàï÷àñòåé Mercedes , ïîäáîð àâòîçàï÷àñòåé äëÿ Ìåðñåäåñ ïî àâòîêàòàëîãó.

How many miles should my tyres last?

12.5k seems low. In the 2 years from new, I've done nearly 40k on the original conti winter tyres and am just getting close to having to replace them (3mm on rears about 3 weeks ago).

    removing a supporting wall

I would recommend having the steel calculations done by an accredited bulding design / structural engineering company. This shouldn't be very expensive (guessing £200-300?) for a relatively simple job, especially if you don't trigger building regulations requirements.

C220 cdi w204 - What mpg do you get on yours?

I believe there were some serious injector problems with the earlier w204 models so yours may have been affected. Try here for official recall details although I'm not sure it captures ones that manufacturers don't report but get their dealers to fix during servicing: VOSA - Vehicle Recalls

C220 cdi w204 - What mpg do you get on yours?

You may want to check that your thermostat is working properly and lets the temp rise to around the 90deg mark as anything less seems to hit the economy pretty hard. Also, I had my injectors replaced under warranty around a year ago and they also reflashed the ECU and changed the wiring loom...

C220 cdi w204 - What mpg do you get on yours?

That might be me - I get good economy from my 2-yr old manual c-class, averaging 62 over long term and around 800miles between refueling stops. About a third of my driving is in town which brings the average down but 65-70 mpg on m'way runs is normal at legal speeds.

Urgh, mpg is only getting worse on c220, thoughts ?

Agree with V12's comments above, also I notice a slight drop in mpg between summer and winter deisel which has been sold for over a month.

Best Fuel economy: cruise control ON or OFF?

I agree with the various posters who have pointed to constant throttle being more fuel efficient than constant speed and that the two become very close when the road is flat and you aren't having to adjust for traffic. Interweb searches for nempi, hypermiling, wayne gerdes etc throw up much the...

    C200CDI fuel consumption

Yes that's me, not all motorways and I have been known to exceed 65 sometimes :) Yes it is a manual - official figures suggest that manual and auto should return the same MPG figures, but I'm certain I would struggle to get these figures with the 7g auto.

    C200CDI fuel consumption

I was quoting directly from the OBC which I reset when the injectors were replaced and ECU reflashed last November (this made a slight improvement) - pic below taken a few months ago. Am also tracking on Fuelly which gives an accurate figure of around 60mpg over the 37k miles covered since new.

    C200CDI fuel consumption

Best I've had in my c250cdi (nearly 2 yrs old) is 83mpg. Average from new on mixed driving (mainly M'way and A roads but 33% urban) is 62.8.

2 years and 40000 miles of leased C250CDi costs write up

I pushed hard for a deal on mine (same vintage) and got about £6.5k off list (paid cash).
