Hi All the interior lighting, dials, switch back lights...the lot, has stopped working in my 1985 500 SEC. I've checked the fuse and it's fine. Seems weird that it's all gone, not just instrument lights. Any ideas? TIA

Very pretty little cars.

Mine always started fine (and re-started fine after having a tizzy) It was just annoying having it die at idle speeds...which you end up doing a lot of with a big V8 auto and can't keep the rev's up "manually" in the same way you can with a manual.

I guess the piece that was on my car disintegrated many moons ago! There is one seller on eBay doing a new replacement but at £80 delivered I was wondering if they are available anywhere else? Alternatively could I just buy the material and cut to shape?

Only once. Just a random pull during the early hours in town around Xmas time. Hadn't had a drink and all my papers in order but the copper was still a total douche.

Well an update. I THINK I've cured it. I took the Idle Control Valve off and gave it a good soak and clean with meths and then a blow through (LOTS of muck came out) and the problem seems to have gone away...fingers crossed!

First was a 380 SEC about three years ago, bought unseen off eBay on a whim. Didn't really have space for it so kept it a month and sold it for a profit. Second was a 500 SE a few months back which I sold because I wanted another SEC...which led me to the current 500 SEC. Definitely got a...

Other than silver... I've got a black SEC and looking at new wheels (lovely as the Baroques are I fancy a change) I was thinking maybe having them finished in black? anybody done this with a 126? any photos about?

Thanks for the input all! I'll have chat with the dealer on Tuesday and look at local indies. I don't suppose anybody can recommend a good Indy with older model experience in the Midlands area?
