    Electrical woes

This car continues to pain me! Car was booked in at specialist, however for 2 weeks it was absolutely fault free... started perfectly all the time. Took it up anyway, they couldn't find any faults on STAR. Now back to its old ways! Specialist has said if its booked in, first thing will be a...

    Electrical woes

Thanks Andrew, that is going to be the next step, have it booked into Indy in Bristol. Wanted to exhaust every possibility myself locally as i have a feeling this might be painful! My auto electrician mate stated that the wires in the boot have been worked on before. Slightly annoyed steering...

    Electrical woes

I'm now wondering if the EIS was actually OK after all. Just in the car now and first turn, no crank. Remove and reinsert key, starts straight away! There don't seem to be any other variables.

    Electrical woes

2009 E350 CDi (W207) For a while now i've had issues and am now reaching the end of my tether! Basically the car will intermittently fail to start when the key is turned, displaying "ESP inoperative/Abs/run flat" in display. Solutions to this generally involve multiple restarts, sometimes it...

    EIS refurbishment service?

Thanks all, I’ve found some well reviewed eBay services which I’ll go with, tricky thing is timing it for when I don’t car! Sadly BBA Reman wouldn’t quote without a part number… since that requires taking it out it’s a bit chicken and egg!

    EIS refurbishment service?

Hi folks, I’ve been having intermittent starting issues for a while now… all lights come on but ESP inoperative, runflat inoperative, etc comes up in display and car won’t start. It was especially bad today. I’ve narrowed it down to the EIS as I scanned codes and just reset this one, then it...

    C207 locking/immobiliser

Interesting… …fingers crossed this problem hasn’t recurred. Loads of rear SAM related errors were coming up. Friend found several chafed/almost broken wires on the boot loom. Now repaired. Seems to have worked, although boot button now doesn’t. We think that’s due to water ingress on the rear...

C207 e350 external boot button not working

Frustratingly I’ve just had the boot wires repaired (a few broken/chafed around hinge) and my rear boot button now doesn’t work!

    C207 locking/immobiliser

Thanks all. Friend came round and we diagnosed low battery voltages, dropping to 9v when starting. So new battery in. Problem has been still happening, although we are hoping now it’s a residual fault from poor battery…loads of random codes were stored which have now been cleared. Failing that...

    C207 locking/immobiliser

New key battery has made no difference. I have noted that the glow plug light doesn’t come on when it’s in a ‘no start’ situation, is this also controlled by the immobiliser? I only have a very basic code scanner, friend may have a better one I could borrow. its a trek to the Indie so keen to...

    C207 locking/immobiliser

Nope, spare key behaves the same. Next I’ve got decent batteries ordered. interestingly though, today I stopped briefly on the way home. Didn’t lock car. Got back in and same fault came up, had to lock and unlock to restart??

Now on spare key, so we‘ll see how that goes!

    C207 locking/immobiliser

Thanks Andrew. I think it is the opening/closing circuit which is the issue, the detection of the key in ignition is fine. I’ll try my spare key and see if that’s different.

COMPLETELY missed this sorry! Thank you all!

    C207 locking/immobiliser

This car constantly finds new ways to try my patience! Anyway, sometimes the key fob won’t open car on first press. Then when I put the key into the ignition the steering lock comes off perfectly, but sometimes it won’t start and comes up with “ESP inoperative” message. re-locking and...

    2012 E Class coupe - leaking roof

Tested with a watering can today. Definitely the top seal on the windscreen. Suddenly gone. How bizarre.

    2012 E Class coupe - leaking roof

Really strange. Didn’t use a pressure washer, there are drips down the middle over the steering wheel…don’t think it would be the window seal! Maybe top seal, which I assume is a windscreen out job. this car never stops giving!

    2012 E Class coupe - leaking roof

Holy thread resurrection! I am seriously losing patience with my 2009 E Class coupe. Not a pano roof, however after washing it just now I’ve noticed drips of water down the windscreen on drivers side (internal) and the headlining is damp! any ideas? Nothing has been replaced recently.
