Just come across this thread, exact same problem last year with my w211 27cdi and it was the ecu. got a new one from Germany via Mercedes, Sheffield but it did take a total of 4 weeks ! from taking car in to collecting it but no problems since.

Can anyone tell me if the outer sill cover from a W211 Elegance will fit a W211 Avantgarde of the same year and also is removal and refitting straightforward. Ive managed to damage my o/side sill when car slipped off jack :o whilst changing oil / filter ( luckily i wasn't underneath at the time)...

Has anyone fitted replacement rear springs to their E270 cdi Avantgard saloon (2003) ?. Been quoted £239 from stealers including a 10% discount but dont want to pay that if i dont have to when theres plenty advertised for less than half that !, any advice appreciated, thanks, Gary
