I had the same symptoms on my cls, also without a fault code which was slightly annoying. I took a gamble on replacing the glow plug relay/control module followed by a fingers crossed test the following morning. The result was instant starting and no white smoke.

I dropped the car off at the garage yesterday and got a call today to say it was indeed an injector seal. All sorted and ready to pick up tomorrow morning. A much less expensive fix than I had been dreading.

Right, I've just had a look and on the v6 it's pretty difficult to even see the injectors. I've definitely got smoke coming from the driver's side of the engine though and possibly from the injector closest to the bulkhead. Would a leaking injector cause exhaust type smells? I'm not sure if the inlet port motor has been replaced in the past but I've owned the car for eight months and the smell has only just started.

The service schedule for my cls says one change in the cars lifetime, but as mentioned above some people change it more often. I know the seven speed box can sometimes be harsh changing down into first gear for the first mile or two. Mine occasionally does it in very cold weather but is fine...

Ebay or a breakers might be your best bet. Don't forget you'll also need a jack and wheel brace if you don't already have them.

My 2008 pre face lift cls has spray nozzles so perhaps later models had them as standard. Worth a look anyway.

That's a bit of a coincidence as I visited Cornwall in my cls last week. Two up with the boot full of associated rubbish, a brimmed fuel tank and with cruise set at 75mph the computer showed just under 40mpg at the end of the journey.

Is the part the same as fitted to a standard grill? You might be able to pick up a complete grill from ebay for not too much. I'd be looking at a decent adhesive though if it can be done without being visible.

Ms Bobby sounds a little mixed up. I suspect she has got confused with using your home address as a trading premises without permission.

If you can't select 1st, 2nd and reverse with the engine turned off this points to a gearbox or linkage/selector problem rather than the clutch.

I'm not doubting your diagnostics but I'm interested to know why an ABS/speed sensor failing would cause heavy steering? Does the car revert to a default setting and weight up the steering feel?
