Afternoon all, Wondering if I can pick your collective brains?.. I have a 99 w202 c180 it's been sat on the drive for 4 months with a few issues. It starts fine but as soon as you try and rev the engine it goes into limp mode, starts missing/running rough and the asr/bas lights...

im not sure if the actual trim is this grey colour on the later version...as the door strips are the same colour, I have a scuffed front one and it sticks out like a sore thumb..i cant seem to find just the trim, I have seen several bumpers for sale with the same colour trim but they are also...

are you sure, I say because I have been looking and a lot of 1999 w202 have a grey top half...or on the silver cars its a darker colour where the chrome top trim would go on say an elegance model?

no its a darker colour im just not sure what...

hi all, been fiddling today. I have gone through fuses one by one and re-seated as I have read that this has cured many issues for people. I did notice that one was missing for the "auto pilot" so replaced...still have the above issue now I have also notice that it has a new battery on the car...

no I haven't either, as im not using the car at the min im delaying the drive to the indi.. but will need to sort it very soon as I need to be back on the road

I would say that's condensation to be fair...I have not managed to get mine to the star man as yet will have to try this week, looks like you are going to have to bite the bullet and get it plugged in for a proper going over....I thought you would be sorted after the 2nd magnet....(scratches head)

it's mad I have read posts from all over the world with the same issue we have but not one of them has concluded with anything...the weekend could see 2 of us actually posting that conclusion in one go eh... all the best pal.. I will keep you posted on progress

Hmm you may be right...still going to get it stared first to confirm...perhaps the oil on mine has caused it to fail... but I thought you said you have changed yours are you thinking the new one is a dud also...

Are you on about the round device under the black cover on the front of the engine?, as I looked at mine earlier and its bone dry under there, unplugged it and there was a minute amount of oil on one of the connector pins, cleaned it...no different, I also looked at the cam position sensor at...

Im also reading it could be crank position sensor as this can cause this but won't always show a code so I will try and borrow that also

and by engine shake I mean when the misfire starts....sounds like only 2 cylinders firing its that bad

I know mine is the same feels like the engine is going to shake it self to bits when it happens....I had to drive it 4 miles home the other day, utter mission when you can't stop to re start..if that makes sense...I found getting it rolling then just feather the pedal to get momentum helps, but...
