2019 E220 cabrio dash cam fitting

Thanks BD - I can find extra USBs in the centre console, which would be ideal if I could find a stress-free way of routing the wiring into it as we don't need a phone charger given the wireless option. The cigar lighter in the rear could be an option, but may preclude closing the lid. Haven't...

Dash cam in new E Class - advice please

My only observation is that they seem incredibly expensive compared to third party tried and tested products!

2019 E220 cabrio dash cam fitting

Grateful for any pointers on how to self fit a standard forward facing dashcam on a 2019 cabrio. This is a lease car so I'm keen not to go the hard wired route, and on checking it out the nearest USB port seems to be in the front console, but that's pretty enclosed so would prevent the lid from...

Vid: Is this head-on collision 50/50 fault?

Land Rover going slightly too fast for the conditions/nature of the road initially, but noticeably slowed before the right hand bend and actually came to a halt before the Merc came around the corner far too fast. 100% Merc fault, lack of MOT would have nothing to do with culpabilty.

2013 E320 Cabrio - mechanism noise from rear cover

Just want a sanity check on the the amount of noise I should expect when the rear panel closes at the end of the open/close roof operation. We get a very noticeable metallic 'clunk' - is this normal or should it be much quieter?

    Employment, asking for a raise

Very true. That's why head-hunters will advertise a position with the telling use of 'to' before the salary/package. It's a come-on to get interest, with the true pay range being disclosed as a reality check to firm candidates in talks with the recruiter.

W211 Interior lighting switches - what do they do?

    Excellent, thanks

    Employment, asking for a raise

If they want to keep you, then they should talk if they've got any sense. Turnover of staff with skills and corporate knowledge is a pain and worth a confidential hike in pay as it costs the company time, money and disruption to replace leavers - just don't broadcast your intentions to your...

W211 Interior lighting switches - what do they do?

Can anyone help with the function of the two buttons closest to the rear view mirror? Both feature the outline of a car, the one on the left additionally showing 'Off'. Owner's manual doesn't explain...

    Creating a limited edition watch

At the risk of turning this into a watch forum, does anyone have any experience of commissioning a limited edition watch? We're looking at a run of say 50 watches with a bespoke logo on the face and individual engraving on the rear. Jorg Grey did us a very nice example a few years ago, but...

Accident - two young drivers in sub £1k cars

In fairness I believe he/she is referring to the 'Lie' in the reply above his reply. No comment, and a fair contribution to the excellent advice from all parties on this matter. I'm sure every response will help anyone in a similar situation (which now includes the windscreen cover...

Accident - two young drivers in sub £1k cars

Interesting, seems to vary but I wouldn't expect consistency from insurance companies. Can't remember which company it was, but I found out about the windscreen loading after going through finer detail on renewal (wife had had a 'no fault' accident which I had to add to the proposal). I asked...

Accident - two young drivers in sub £1k cars

Even the 'free windscreen replacement' counts against you on renewal. Shows up as an incident, you end up with a loaded premium the following year. Notification? I'm sure it's not a legal requirement so no chance of prosecution - it may well be a condition of insurance, though, but not one...

Accident - two young drivers in sub £1k cars

Pro-active and 18 year old are rarely used in the same sentence, but I like your thinking ;) I'm frankly relieved that he didn't come together with a wealthy neighbour's SLS or similar, but he'll do the right thing and it will be a learning experience - we've all been there. The other...

Accident - two young drivers in sub £1k cars

Lesson firmly learned. Fully and profuse admission of liability, my only concern is that he doesn't get taken for a ride if the repair bill comes in at a sum well above the value of the other car. I'm sure the other party is a similarly sensible and moral individual, but some may take...

Accident - two young drivers in sub £1k cars

Early days, but I'd guess will outweigh vehicle cost unless done on the cheap to get the vehicle back on the road, forget cosmetics. Same for Skoda.
