Anything I can do to make my 2000 E430T a bit nippier without spending much?

Basically a doddle, remove fan, fan shroud, alt belt, all cooling pipes then unbolt and remove pump.

Last weeks my brakes satrted squeaking so i stripped them down a good clean and grease up and all is good again, but i did notice the outside edge of the pads are riding past the edge of the discs by about 5/6mm, ie it looks like disc is to small or pads are wrong. I bought the discs last year...

Was poking under bonnet and noticed a vac actuator couple to a link arm that goes into the inlet manifold, quick look at the russian shows it item 29 top pic, is this just for noise or does it adjust the inlet length for torque etc? Lynall
