OK so a search on this forum shows that a Howto for the W210 pollen filter exists. However, the filters on my E320CDI year 2000 with the indicators on the door mirrors have a different configuration - it has 4 filters in total (2 pollen filters behind the glove box plus two carbon filters below...

I was just wondering replacing the filter, I need advise on which one of the direct replacment filter, i should get "Green Cotton" or "K & N" but are there any problems with these filter. Even tho' the car is slow but with shell optimax there is an improvement in performance (just Slight) anyway...

I have the classic musty smell for about 5-10 mins after the A/C is switched off. I have replaced the pollen filter (in the passenger well) and have tried two different aerosoles ( a Comma product and one from Euro car parts), both have helped but not eliminated the problem. I have two questions...

Thought I might put a less restrictive filter in but the only ones I can find are those which require oiling. This is something I am not sure about as there is a view about that contamination of air flow sensors etc can result. Are there any "dry" free flow filters available?

Looking at taking advantage of the Kwikfit oil and filter change deal on my C240, £37 for Mobil1 and filter!! My question is are third party oil filters ok or would I be better to get a Mercedes oil filter and give it to Kwikfit? Cheers Mark

Just out of interest, if a sports type filter is fitted, do any adjustments have to be made for the too lean/rich conditions or does the ECU and sensors and probes and gizmos self compensate for the difference in fuelling requirements.
