How do you remove the gearknob (Automatic car) on the W124? Does the knob seperate from the shaft or does the shaft seperate from somewhere below the selector gate? Is it a case of unscrewing? i have tried twisting the knob (as much as i dare) but with no sign of movement.

As the title says, I need a tiptronic gear selector in good working condition for my 320cdi. I beleive they are all the same regardless of which engine etc but I'm sure someone will be able to confirm for me. Reversing light switch must work properly please. WHY?

Hello. My S320 2002 plate is stuck in Park, but with a bit of force it works. Once left in park for a while it gets stuck again. Im thinking of changing the whole selector unit for a secondhand one, will I need to programme it or is it a simple swap? Many thanks Kal
