Just thought I would mention.... I have owned my CLS55 for 6 years. I now have 200,000 miles on the clock. I like the car so much I am probably going to buy another one!!

Wow, mine is under half that. Have you had to carry out any extensive engine/gearbox work on yours?

Have you ever worked out how much fuel would have cost? Would be a few quid.

So far....
SBC Pump
Airmatic pump
Airmatic strut (x2)
Supercharger pump
Supercharger Pulley (literally just fell off!)
Front wheel bearing

Hell no.... However I have been fortunate as much of my mileage is billable and can be expensed.

My estimate is about £70k

200000 miles at 20mpg X £7/gall.

Is Randy in the U.K. though?

Randy what year?

Very cool. I'd keep it till 1 mil then contact MB. They might put urs in a museum and give u a new one...

Excellent, great milestone!

That is not bad at all!
MercAMG obviously got it right in terms of reliability with this model.

202000 miles on an E55K 53 plate. On my second service booklet as the first one is full. Few more pieces on mine than yours, front air matic strut, arnott industries rear struts, lh bank exhaust manifold cracked, 3 supercharger pumps, both front wheel bearings which took out the stub axles, conductor plate, at least 2 sets of discs. Owned it for 7 years, but I don't think I'll ever get rid, too much fun to drive.

Tanks for the info. Are there any preventative measures one can carry out? I've had the rocker covers sealed for example.

The only advice I can think of really is as follows:

Oil change (only) every 4,000 miles. Irrespective of your maintenance schedule or service indicator.

Take your car for a proper blast (motorways etc). if you tend to lots of short journeys. I am fortunate as I live in Bedfordshire and most times I drive my car It will be probably involve such driving.
