2009 E350 CDI COUPE window closing

Just bought the above car & love it but reading the manual I can't seem to figure out the convenience window closing /opening that you can operate from the key if you hold the lock/open button down , was this an optional extra that perhaps my car doesn't have or is it a standard fit that you have to activate somehow ??
Hopefully someone can tell me

Standard fit I believe. Just hold the button down.

Hold the button down and point it at the drivers door handle where the sensor is.

Hold the button down and point it at the drivers door handle where the sensor is.

And be close to the sensor. Infrared is used for this function rather than radio frequency transmission which is used for remote locking.
