Yes I know haters will hate and would only settle for £1200 worth of genuine carbon fibre but the wrap cost me less than £10 and after following the MCcarbon PDF for removing the trim 2 hours later I have this.

To be honest I only gave it a bit of a go and didn't expect much. I'm more than happy with the result. I'll do the door card trims at the weekend when I have more time.

Apologies for the quality of the photos. Just a couple of quick snaps on my phone.

TBH, CF interior parts are just eye candy, so if the wrap doesn't look like a wrap (if you see what I mean) then it's a great solution.

Your car, your call. Do whatever you want with it. :)

I think it looks fine, and you seem to have done a lot better job than I would have managed.

Ian - if the phot is anything to go by, you have done a sterling job, well done, but I suspect you are a bit more of a handy man than you let on!!!!

For what its worth, I think that is well executed and looks good.

Very nice. I did the same on my c43. Is it 3m di-noc? I much prefer the mat carbon finish to the high polish.

Good work, don't think I'd have the patience or skills lol

Considering this for my W205 centre panel, but need to find out how easy the panel is to remove first.

I did the centre console and door cappings on my SL in 3M Di-Noc and was really pleased with the results. It took me hours to do the centre console due to all the fiddly bits, but if you take your time great results can be achieved with very little expense.

Looks good!

I inherited the same thing in mine and I love it (picture in older gallery).

Can't stand wood unless it is real wood in a classic Roller / Daimler / Jag etc.

Looks good from here fella, as said, it is your car, let others worry about their own tastes.

Did this, centre console, door and dash trims. Looked great.

Thanks for the kind words. I have now wrapped the door trims. I followed the removal guide for the door card than one of the MBworld members had written.

His was a pre facelift. The facelift is the same with 2 exceptions. There is a third screw holding the door card on. As well as the 2 under the arm rest there is one under a cover behind the door handle ( shown in photo )

Also on the pre facelift the long trim strip used to be held on by screws. On the facelift it's held on by spring clips. The best way to remove these is using a forked trim tool and then easing the clip of in a left to right motion. To put the clip back on put a small socket over the clip and tap them down again. Again shown in the photos.

The seat adjustment panel is held in by one torx 20 screw in the back. Remove this then poke the screwdriver through the hole to push out the panel.
Enjoy.....

Looks good, do you have the link to the removal guide please. Thinking of doing the center trim in gloss carbon.

Dare I say it ... that is factory ! well done mate, a perfect execution on a C/F theme.

Fantastic job Ian ! You have got me wanting to get rid of the wood in my W220 !!
I don't suppose anyone has a dummy's guide to wooden trim removal on a 2004 S Class do they ?
