Hi,
My wife has just bought a 2008 (08) A-Class A150 Classic, and I have a question about the use of mobile phone in it.
My brother in law has a similar model vehicle and has bluetooth connectivity however after switching on the bluetooth on my phone and pressing the telephone button on the stereo, it just comes up with the message 'no phone'.
I can't seem to find out how to connect the phone so it goes through the car audio. Is this something that can be done or is there another way to do it?

On a side note, I used to be on this forum with a 2000 reg C-Class C230 kompressor, however have been away from mercedes in the recent years -going Swedish - 2 Saabs and now a Volvo. Good to have a Merc back in the family though!

Look forward to your replies and thanks in advance!

Rob.

For Model Year 2009 (i.e late 2008) the stereos in A class changed so they included Bluetooth.

Before that, (i.e your car) you need (a) the phone pre-wiring option and (b) a bluetooth adapter.

Look in the pop out drawer on the armrest. If it has a little half moon connector in it then you have the pre-wiring and all you then need to add a bluetooth adapter like one one of these

Viseeo MB-4+ (MB4) Bluetooth interface for UHI & MHI equipped cars. | Mercedes Bluetooth & Phone | Comand Online Ltd
Mercedes Bluetooth HFP Adapter | Mercedes Bluetooth & Phone | Comand Online Ltd

If you don't then you need to retrofit a phone system. There are retrofits with bluetooth built in, such as
mCar Phone & Digital iPod interface for Mercedes NTG1/NTG2 vehicles | Phone System Retrofit Kits | Mercedes Retrofits | Comand Online Ltd

You'll need Star Diagnosis (dealer computer) to configure a new phone system, so if you are near Lightwater best to get someone like Alfie of Mercedes Retrofit Specialist - Comand.co.uk

Cheers

Richard
