A170 auto gearbox??

Hi
We have a a170 05 reg and had a problem with the throttle body.
We replacec this got it decoded etc..
But as we went to drive it out of garage could not get it into gear! So now fearing the worst ...is this a new gearbox now? Or possibly something else that wont cost the earth!

I would start with checking the oil level then getting it on a diag machine to see of there are any fault codes.
