I have a 2006 CLK 280 Conv.

When the wipers are set to auto mode all it takes is the slightest drizzle and the wipers go mental operating at full speed.

Is there any way the sensitivity can be adjusted, I drive a Mercedes lorry at work and this is doable through the menu settings.

Many thanks

Don't think it is adjustable on the CLK. Ours went through a phase of doing this and then went back to normal a few weeks later and has been fine since. Perhaps the sensor is dodgy.

Do the wipers actually clear rain from where the sensor is?

You need to check the screen is scrupulously clean in the sensor area. If the wipers smear the rain, rather than clear it, the sensor sends them into deluge mode..

Sounds stupid now but I've never actually checked that, feel like a right div now lol:doh:

As I understand it the sensors measure change in refraction of light as it passes through the water. Its in that group of sensors in the blacked out area of the screen in front of the rear view mirror
