Hi All,

You may remember my Smart Brabus Roadster enthusiasm from such threads as this.

Anyway, its now 2007 and time to start the process of buying a Brabus Roadster. I've got the financial elements of it covered, but was wondering if anyone has any pointers of common things to check for on the car itself?

One of the things I've been advised to check for pre-purchase is to take the car to a jetwash and give it a damn good hosing to check for leaks, but what about mechanical stuff? Anything I need to check for with regards to steering or gearbox wear?

We're planning to buy from a Smart dealership to get the warranty and to simplify the process of having extras fitted (we want the trip computer, cruise control, iPod wotsit and the rear luggage rack). I guess its not the cheapest option but presumably the safest?

Finally, I quite like the look of this one. All opinions gratefully received!

Thanks in advance! :)

My only comment (apart from the fact that I've got a bit of a soft spot for them too :) ), is that it's up for £11k, but the sticker price is just shy of £15! Either the photos are of a different car, or there's a reason for the 26.6% price reduction
