I have just bought an immaculate 1 owner 1995 Mercedes C220. The only downside is lack of A/C.
Does any member know if it is a complicated job to fit a second hand unit from a scrap car and is it within the limits of a the normal do it yourselfer.
Thanks in advance.

It will involve quite a lot of work. And you shouldn't discharge the old refrigerant into the air.

A retrofit will pratically require replacing the entire dashboard... and there are quite a few bits thst need swapping in the engine bay.

But if you have the space, tools, and know-how then you can move the bits across over time. This might be a nice little project.

Thankyou for the feedback. A slight opening of the window appears to be the order of the day:eek:

All you need is cash .

Some time ago I was quoted £1300 to fit Ac to a 190(W201?)
