Aerial in front of radiator

There is an aerial in front of the radiator on my C32 and wondered what it is for. It is to the right of the horn sounders. Anyone know what it feeds?

It looks like the aerial for an old style mobile phone kit. Perhaps the owner didn't want the bodywork drilling?

The datacard doesn't show a telephone system fitted at build and there is no sign of the connection in the armrest. I agree it does look like a phone aerial.

Doubt a tracker aerial would be mounted in such a clear view

Ex plod? Covert installation? Although that antenna will give a pretty poor gain in that location. Any other signs of additional equipment? Check in the boot sides etc.

Could it be that a previous owner had problems with the radio reception through the inbuilt rear screen antenna and tried to improve it with an additional aerial, without drilling holes in the body?

CB radio? (although they were usually quite long).

Are there any cables still attached to it?

That's a GSM antenna, so pretty useless for TV/temp probe or CB radio.
