air cap paint chipped away at edges

hi on both sides of the edge of air cap on my e250 cgi the paint has completly chipped away right down to the bare metal. I have seen other mercs and some are the same as mine has anyboby here got the same problem. Seems to me this could be a fault with paintwork my car is only 6 years old.

Hi, I'd be interested to know what the paint code is used for repainting the Air Cap. Anyone know?? Mine looks black, but which black? Thanks

I’d be interested as well. Mine has supposedly had the Aircap deactivated, as the previous owner didn’t like the noise when raised, so it’s difficult to get at to touch up properly. Does anyone know how to raise it other than by the switch?
