Hi All
For the life of me, I can't find a definitave instruction on how to change the above. There are loads on the 250 and the 350 but nothing on my model year. Can anyone help please?

Take off the engine cover, there will be an ECU in top of the air box. The air box is held down with 7 T25 screws. Undo those and lift the cover. The air filter is pretty hard to move, but it will eventually slide off the back of the air flow meter. Refitting will be the reverse of removal.

Thanks for the reply Iain, do I have to remove/unplug the ECU?

I didn't, there's not that much room with the ECU plugged in but it can be done.

No need to disconnect the ECU but you will need to unclip the wiring harness from its location loosen all the screw and lift up.

I have a 2012 C220 estate diesel. Photos below should help

Anyone try an after market filter like K&N ?

I asked the question years ago when I first got my w204 and the answer I got was not to bother. OEM Mann filter is more than up to job.
