im looking at some c class 2012 18 wheels for my 2007 clk, will they fit?

You would need hubcentric spacers at least 20mm thick plus longer bolts.
I would leave them and get the correct ET (offset)

Check your ET against any other wheels that come up.

Yeah, I tried putting winter wheels from a W204 on the CLK (because they are the correct profile according to my manual) and found exactly this. - It needs spacers to stop them fouling the brakes callipers at the front, and the handbrake mechanism at the rear.

10mm is probably all it needs, but 20mm is probably safer.
