Auto Boot release issue? Common?

Greetings all.. Newb here.

Only really lurked up to now. Thought i'd say hey and jump straight in with a question.

Loving my new Coupe however finding that the boot release/assisted open can be quite temperamental?

It unlocks and then very slowly opens up. However if it rains (i assume the excess weight of the water) it unlocks, opens about an inch and then stays put.

Is there something that can be adjusted to make the spring open mech stronger? Is this common?

I just lubricated all the pivoting points on the hinge arrangement and now works as it should, easy fix.

Check for leaves and general crud around the seals and drain channels, they tend to get sticky

I think it's that sensitively counterbalanced that any sort of weight on the lid will affect it.

It also wouldn't surprise me that Mercedes have done this on purpose so that your boot isn't wide open and getting wet through from the rain.
