Auto tailgate

My auto tailgate on merc r class seems very sensitive and sometimes does not close and I have to watch it go up and back down again. Are these indeed sensitive or mine perhaps faulty. Any experience of this ?

I have one on my ML. What do you mean by sensistive? Mine stops if it hits any resistance upon closing. I just give it a shove shut.

mine used to do that on the w211, then the control unit packed up.

there was a later control module released by MB which I sourced and that's much better, haven't had it bounce back up since. It also closes and opens better.
